I had the pleasure of hanging out with the Secret Garden team for a photography session a few days before Valentine’s Day. The floral industry is a madhouse around Valentine’s Day so I was surprised when Parie called me with the request for some updated staff photos! But, if you’ve been around the Secret Garden crew at all, you know that they pull together amazing things (like weddings, parties and events) no matter what is going on in their world at the time. They tend to be almost “magic” like that!
I’ve been fortunate to be able to work with Parie and Keith Villyard closely over the years. We’ve crossed paths on every type of event from “In The Pink” and “The Tri State Fair Gala” to some of the most amazing weddings in the Texas panhandle. They always bring an energy and sense of fun to everything they touch.
Now, when I think about it, Secret Garden has been there for the most important events in my personal life too.
Weird. I just thought about this…
Two very memorable recent events that Secret Garden was there for come to mind. One was Cassy and I’s wedding two years ago. They created the most beautiful feel for our wedding. Our guests had such a great time because of Keith and Parie’s hard work.
The second was the arrangement that they created for my Granddad’s funeral. My Granddad was a very accomplished gardener. He spent so much time in his garden growing vegetables of all kind. We all loved the sacks of Kentucky wonders, corn and zucchini he would give us during the summer and fall. So when he passed away, we called Secret Garden and asked if they could make a special arrangement. Instead of just “taking an order” over the phone like most florists might–Keith rushed right over to my parents house and into the garden. He took vegetables back to the shop and Parie and the team created the most amazing arrangement from my Granddad’s favorite vegetables. It meant so much to me and my family.
Secret Garden is always over the top in understanding exactly what each of us needs when it comes to flowers and events! You guys mean the world to Cassy and I.
